Laryngology is one of the seven areas that Otolaryngologist may sub-specialize in. With a focus on laryngology, otolaryngologist are trained to treat disorders of the throat, including voice and swallowing. Some examples of patient symptoms and illinesses relating to larnygology are sore throat, hoarseness, swallowing disorders and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
