Suffering from acid reflux?

The Restech Dx-pH Test

WHAT IS IT?

The Restech Dx-pH test is a diagnostic test to determine the amount of acid reaching the airway. It is a simple, comfortable test performed with a small probe containing a sensor at the tip.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

During the test period (typically 24 or 48 hour periods), patients are encouraged to eat normal meals, go to work, and even exercise. The Restech System charts pH levels to document when reflux episodes occur most frequently, and monitors the severity. With the patients’ input, the Restech System tracks meals, symptoms, and reclined periods. This information helps correlate symptoms and reflux patterns.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The Restech Dx-pH Probe is placed through the nose until the tip is at the back of the throat- high enough so patients cannot feel it when they speak or swallow. The sensor collects pH data and sends it to a small recorder that is worn on the belt or over the shoulder. The probe is gently removed after the test period. Your doctor will review your results to choose the best treatment plan for your individual needs!
