Dr. Paul C. Atwater completed his residency training in Otolaryngology at Emory University. An Atlanta native, he received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his internship at St. Mary's Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco and his General Surgery residency at Piedmont Hospital.
Dr. Atwater is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He is a former president of the Metro Atlanta Otolaryngology Society. Prior to joining ENT of Georgia in 1997, he was in private practice for 16 years in Atlanta. He sees his patience in his office located in the Professional Building at Piedmont Hospital in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.
Dr. Atwater uses the latest technology and instruments for improved patient comfort and optimal recovery times. This includes use of the Harmonic Scalpel for tonsillectomies and the image guided computer navigation system for safer and more complete sinus surgery. He has a special interest in surgery for nasal obstruction and cosmetic rhinoplasty with minimal pain and without post-op nasal packing. He also performs procedures to reduce snoring such as the Pillar Procedure, as well as treating sleep apnea with medical treatments such as the CPAP machine or with definitive surgery including the Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UP3) procedure.
For hearing problems, Dr. Atwater is pleased to have Dr. Kelly Calkins, Doctor of Audiology available in his office for hearing testing and fitting of Advanced Technology hearing aids at very competitive pricing.
Dr. Atwater is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans at the Piedmont-Atlanta office of ENT of Georgia.
