Dr. Howard K. Herman received his degree in Medicine from the Boston University School of Medicine. Post graduate training included an internship in General Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City and residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He also completed a three-month research fellowship in Pediatric ENT at Children's Hospital of San Diego and Balboa Naval Hospital. Dr. Herman has published book chapters and research articles in his field. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and has been practicing with ENT of Georgia since 1993.

Dr. Herman utilizes the most advanced technologies to optimize patient results and minimize recovery time. This includes use of The Harmonic Scalpel for tonsillectomies and other surgeries, which results in decreased postoperative pain and faster healing and return to normal activities.

For children requiring ear tubes, he utilizes special ear tubes which help to prevent infections and don't require ear plugs when showering or swimming.

For sinus surgery patients, Dr. Herman utilizes the latest telescopes, instruments and computer guided imaging systems.

Dr. Herman also specializes in the management of nasal obstruction, snoring and sleep apnea. He offers minimally invasive procedures in the office such as nasal turbinate reductions and Pillar implants for the relief of snoring. In addition, he can offer the full range of medical treatments including CPAP and surgical treatments including uvulopalatopharyngoplasties and tongue and hyoid advancements.

He is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Herman is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans in the Stockbridge and Riverdale offices of ENT of Georgia.
